5 Tips to a Healthier Lifestyle

Hi loves!!!

So excited to share this! Lots of requests for this blog post so figured I’d give it a shot! Wanted to give a few tips on how I maintain a healthier lifestyle inside & out!

  1. Your Mindset

A lot of learning how to live a healthier lifestyle is the way you view yourself and your circumstances. It’s so easy to complain, or let little things get you down throughout the day, but it’s important to not let those things affect you!

There’s always going to be hard things happening, but it’s the way you handle them. You can let them get you down, or you can choose to keep moving forward.

2. Fuel your Body

Ya’ll… I know this is hard. Trust me. I had a green smoothie this morning and a salad for lunch it’s not always fun HAHA. BUT boy is it worth it!!!

Clean eating doesn’t have to be plain chicken for every meal. Get creative!!! It’s so much easier to eat clean by not being super strict. If you feel like having a cookie, HAVE THE DANG COOKIE!

I always plan out healthy meals throughout the week by using pinterest! Feel free to follow my boards - you can see my recipes!!! ( https://www.pinterest.com/nicolecarlsonxo/boards/ ). Then I like to treat myself whenever we go out to eat! It’s a good balance because you don’t feel like you’re depriving yourself from yummy foods, but you’re just having them a lot less.

Also here’s a healthy coffee recipe, I get this everyday and love it since some lattes can be up to 200 calories! This coffee is about 5-25 cal depending on the amount of half & half you put in.

3. Give 1 Hour to Yourself

Working out is also a tough one… BUT when you really look at it, it is 1 hour a day. It could be simply walking on a treadmill or doing your favorite workout class at the gym! Whatever it looks like, you will never regret giving that 1 hour to yourself! It is so good for your body and your health and will develop a healthy habit!

First & foremost everyone is different, and everyone is in different spots. I started out just walking for 1 hr a day and now it has developed into a lot more! It doesn’t happen overnight, so don’t get down on yourself - just work towards your goal!

I workout 6 days a week and alternate between Barre3 and running/walking on a treadmill!

4. Remember who(se) you are

It can be easy to get caught up in the crazy healthy lifestyle and become obsessed with it, I know I can fall into it! Especially with seeing it all over IG and social media in general. It can be hard NOT to be hard on yourself if that makes sense.. haha.

BUT remember at the end of the day healthy eating is not everything, working out is not everything, sure it’s better for you - BUT remember your worth not in all of these things. You are made in God’s creation and perfect in His sight!!!

5. Don’t be so hard on yourself

Last pointer, kind of similar to the 4th but it’s important! Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re not going to eat great everyday or workout everyday and may not for weeks and THAT’S OK. Don’t turn back on your healthy lifestyle just because you haven’t kept up perfectly. Tomorrow is always a new day! You got this friends!!!!
