How to dress cozy & cute for winter
The hardest thing of all... being cute in RAINY, COLDY, WINDY, weather!!! Literally story of my life living in Seattle. It's taken me so long to figure out different tricks to look cute, but not totally freeze.
I'm going to share a few of my tricks, along with some essential pieces (+ this cute outfit) that you should have in your closet for the winter!!
Before I go into the nitty-gritty. I'm gonna attach all the items I'm wearing below!!
I've also been OBSESSED with these new sunnies!! They're Burberry from www.smartbuyglasses.com I'm so glad I stumbled across their site - they have so many cute options!!! I finally invested in a good pair of sunglasses & could not be more excited!!! I'm a strong believer of sunglasses even in the winter ;)
DRESSING FOR WINTER TIPS
1. GET A BIG, WARM, (CUTE) COAT
Amen to that. I cannot tell you how many times I've tried to get by in cold weather without a warm coat. It just doesn't happen HAHA!! I just end up complaining about the weather & freezing my butt off. A big coat is super essential! That way, you're more flexible with what you can where underneath, because you have the big coat keeping you warm! I like to have a bunch of different styles of coats so I can mix and match with them! I'll attach some big coats that I have, & one's I really want lol
2. STLYING YOUR HAIR FOR THE COLD
SCRUNCHIES, HATS, HAIR UP, MESSY WAVES - EMBRACE IT! I love this new hair style I've been going with so that my bangs don't get messed up & crazy! I've also been into some cute baseball hats & fedora hats!!! Also... I ALWAYS tend to curl/wave my hair in this weather, because the wind and rain is BOUND to get to it, so might as well go along with those beach waves & messy curls!
3. BASIC WARM TOPS & BOTTOMS
I love love love sweater & coat season because it is so easy to style outfits!!! You can wear a basic shirt underneath, some jeans, a big coat & bring some little statement pieces into your outfit to style it from there!!! I love getting basic turtlenecks, long shirts, different colored jeans, leggings, leather leggings, aaaaalllll that good stuff to mix up different outfits with a big coat!
4. LITTLE STATEMENT PIECES
After you've got all your basic mix & match pieces - throw in some statement jewelry/accessories (like I'm wearing sunglasses, hoops, and a scrunchie) to tie the whole outfit together!!! It's just that simple.
5. SHOES!!!
And everyone's favorite part... the shoes. Rainboots, ankle booties, sneakers, it's all perfect for this weather! I love these fry booties, but if I'm dressing down, I love just wearing my leggings & hunter rainboots!!
