MARCO ISLAND, FLORIDA
Hello, hello friends!!! Brandon & I visited Marco Island, Florida last week and it was straight DREAMY! So sharing all our favorite spots & where we stayed below! Also I’m sorry for the lack of pictures (wish I could’ve taken more, but was trying to take a pause on thee work life)! ENJOY!
jw marriott marco island beach resort
First off, we got a KILLER deal on the resort. So if it’s looking pricey check other dates & it might be lower! I looked at a different week in April and it went from $1,200 a night to like $500. I was like what the… haha odd, but figured I’d mention!
First time really vacationing in Florida (other than when I had visited when I was 5 lol doesn’t really count - same for Brandon). Honestly, we’re Maui SNOBZ & it felt like a mini Maui, but a tad closer! Also the water was warmer & sand was whiter / less rocky! Humid of course, but didn't mind that so much.
Overall, I would say Maui / Waikiki is still my favorite (IMO) purely because of things to do. Marco Island is great, but it’s an hour car ride from the airport to the hotel (again similar to Maui) BUT, there are no ubers on the island! So unless you’re renting a car you may have more options, but we didn’t. We walked and it worked out actually great! For us we’re such “homebodies” to the hotel anyways. We legit like to lay out the whole time we’re there haha, so it worked wonderfully for us! I’ll list the places that were our favorite & where we walked below, but I will say if you want more options / if you’re the more adventurous type RENT A CAR.
I know weather can be spotty everywhere depending on the time and season, but we lucked out major! All days were sunny except one day where there was a big storm! The beach was massive, JW Marriott has free rentals for umbrellas & chairs that they’ll set up for you, along with (my favorite part lol) a bar on the beach you can order from or waiters on golf carts that come around and take orders from you - so cool!!!
Pool was great! It does get crowded so we always made it a point to get to the pool right at 8 when it opened to get a spot (since that’s all we did it was a big priority to us haha). There’s 2 pools, a kids pool & adults / kids pool. We honestly hung out at the kids pool most the time cause I didn’t even know it was a kids pool lol it was so cool with a waterslides and a waterfall! SUPER kid friendly hotel, I felt like most people were there with their families honestly!
Rooms are so nice and beautiful, masks are mandated while inside and at restaurants but not outside!
food
Doreen’s Cup of Joe -
breakfast my favorite!!! Got a boozy morning cocktail with cereal on top & the yummiest french toast (Doreen’s specialty!)
Joey’s Pizza -
Right next to Doreen’s (both a mile walk from the hotel). So freaking yummy. Very casual, but GOOD pizza.
Da Vinci’s -
Probably my top favorite dinner meal. About a half mile walk, yummiest Italian food! This is where Brandon got that smokey drink everyone was staring at LOL.
Marco Prime -
Right next to Da Vinci’s a nicer steak / seafood spot. Super yummy! Definitely a little fancier.
Quinn’s on the Beach -
Definitely where we went the most since it was at the hotel! Beachfront & just went for lunch - the chicken sandwich and cobb salad is just straight fire.
Koral -
Sushi spot at the restaurant. They change the menu weekly so if they have the Marco roll GET IT! Me & Brandon’s fav, along with the workers there! I liked it, but Brandon liked it more. I liked it cause I like sushi, but the rolls weren’t anything spectacular IMO.
Illy Coffee -
Pretty much the only option for coffee nearby (in the hotel) unless you have a car & it gets packed hahaha.
All in all it was a great trip & we will be back! Hope y’all enjoyed this post & that it helped if you’re thinking about visiting! To shop my outfits from the trip go HERE - looking on the app is easier, you can even search key terms like “swimsuit” or “vacation looks” to help you and it faster. :)
